Steak and French Fries

Some days putting time into cooking is fun.  Some days its work.  Today was spent putting up concrete board in preperation for tiling our fireplace, so dinner wasn’t involved.  The perfect day for Porterhouse steaks to be on sale at the grocery store!

No pictures; we ate it too fast.  Despite living in AZ (where we can grill outdoors this time of year) I cooked these steaks under the broiler.  They were about 1 inch thick, bone in, so I cooked them 6.5 minutes on each side.  Then they sat for 5 minutes before we cut them.  A perfect medium rare.

The steaks were served with Alexia crinkle cut french fries; always tasty and the right level of crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside.

Yum.
